Northville got a decent performance from pitcher B.J. McLean, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bethesda Atoms. Bethesda won the Atoms Field contest, 3-2. McLean threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Felipe González locked down his 17th save. The 4th-place Atoms improved to 30-27.
The Eclipse had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Atoms going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old first baseman Adrián García came to the plate. García hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 slider from Northville hurler B.J. McLean. It was García's 12th home run of the year.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Pedro Ángel.
