Blue Demons Claim 5-2 Triumph
|
The exploits of first baseman José Castejón, who is tied for 7th in the PL in stolen bases with 18, helped the Mexico City Blue Demons defeat the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 5-2. Castejón went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. Ángel Santingo, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. The Blue Demons improved their record to 36-50 with the win over Ft. Worth.
Justin Jacobson's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant, coming with runners on 1st and 3rd and the game tied, 2-2. The Mexico City left fielder hit a run-scoring single off Marc Potts to put the Blue Demons up.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Mexico City manager JJ Hoban. "It's usually not just one thing."
