The Lake Murray MotorBoaters snuck past the Billings Polar Bears, 2-1, in 10 innings. Lake Murray pitcher Bill Marshall, in particular, had a standout performance. Picking up the save was Max Burse, his 9th. Lake Murray now owns a record of 29-29.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Woody Evans came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Billings pitcher Mark Peterson, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Lake Murray on top, 2-1.
"We didn't let this one get away," said Evans.
