Ithaca beat Providence on the strength of starting pitcher Gary Aldridge's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-0. Tom McClendon notched his 1st save of the season. Ithaca is now 32-35, Providence 37-30.

Had Nicephorus Yeremian not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Yeremian hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Fighting Imps.

"Gary was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Ithaca manager Jeffrey Lewis.
