Polar Bears Suffer 3-1 Road Loss
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Barton Springs Blues and the Billings Polar Bears, Francisco Aguilar, who is tied for 3rd in the SAA with a 2.02 ERA, proved to be the difference. The Barton Springs right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Blues win. Aguilar got the win, improving to 5-3. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. The 6th-place Blues have won 6 in a row.
Barton Springs center fielder Teuvo Vihermaa contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 49th hit of the season and put the Blues ahead, 3-1.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Vihermaa.
