Polar Bears Suffer 5-0 Setback

Toichi Kodo, who is tied for 10th in the SAA with a 2.76 ERA, was terrific for the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas in his team's 5-0 triumph over the Billings Polar Bears. His performance earned Kodo rave reviews. Kodo picked up the win for Chesapeake, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. Nick Bailey closed it out for his 2nd save.
Chesapeake used the timely hitting of Rich Martin to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Kodo.
The third-place Cangrejos Fantasmas have won 4 straight games.
