Highlanders Earn 3-2 Win Versus MotorBoaters
|
Asheville Highlanders starter Ray Campbell turned in a sparkling performance against the Lake Murray MotorBoaters, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Asheville reliever Jorge Marroquín picked up the win to move to 3-0. Brandon Huffman suffered the loss. With the win, Asheville goes to 44-25, while the MotorBoaters fall to 36-33.
Claude Prigent was 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs for Asheville. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the eighth, Prigent came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Highlanders in front, 3-2.
"This was a tough loss," said Lake Murray manager David Buchanan. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
