The Northville Eclipse did just enough to sneak past the Barton Springs Blues, 5-4, at Old-Timers Park. Northville pitcher Álex Cruz, in particular, had a standout performance. Northville is now 35-35, while Barton Springs is 27-43.
The decisive blow was delivered by Jon Gray in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Ed Hull to win the game for Northville. The home crowd went nuts.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Cruz.
