Riding the 3-hit performance of the 26-year old first baseman Glenn Beck, the Squirrel Hill Pierogis stopped the Barton Springs Blues, 8-2. The win makes Squirrel Hill 32-39.

Squirrel Hill shortstop José Maldonado contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 41st hit of the season and put the Pierogis ahead, 6-1.

Said losing manager Francisco Pelaez: "Give the Pierogis credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."
