Turbeaus Get One-Run Win at Asheville
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 4-3, in USSL Double A action at Asheville Park. Gulf Coast pitcher Artie Jones had a standout performance. The Turbeaus have now reeled off 8 straight wins.
Tom Evans, the Gulf Coast shortstop, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 4-0, Turbeaus. For the game, Evans went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"Right now, things are falling our way," said Gulf Coast manager Melvin McCullough.
