MotorBoaters Win, 4-2, at Gwinnett
|
The Lake Murray MotorBoaters took Gwinnett pitcher Randy Pierce's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Experimental Stadium. The final score had Lake Murray getting past the Guinea Pigs, 4-2. Pierce went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. Max Burse earned the save, his 13th, for the MotorBoaters. At 37-34, the MotorBoaters find themselves in 4th place in the Silver AA.
Lake Murray used the hitting of Mike Barr to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the MotorBoaters on top, 4-2. For the game, Barr had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Said losing manager Clarence Sloan: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
