The Toledo Stingers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Northern Virginia right fielder Markus Lund by beating the Rainbow Mermaids, 6-5, at Pacesetter Park. Lund went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Reliever Marvin Garner picked up the win. His record improves to 5-1. Alberto Martínez took the loss. Toledo is now 52-35.

Toledo took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Willie Griffin stroked a run-scoring single to make it 6-5, Stingers.

"We found a way to get it done," Griffin said.
