MotorBoaters Suffer 5-3 Loss to Loons
|
The Minnesota Loons topped the Lake Murray MotorBoaters, 5-3, with youngster Herb Jones playing a key role. Jones went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Loons in the win. Minnesota pitcher António Vélez got the win. He's now 8-6. Joseph Sankey was tagged with the loss. Clay May finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Jones had a consequential at-bat in the top of the third for the Loons. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Minnesota trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Minnesota manager Calvin Beck.
Minnesota is second in the Silver AA with a record of 40-32.
