Squirrel Hill right fielder Shan-tang Zhou had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Zhou went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Chesapeake beat the Pierogis, 4-3. Chesapeake has run its win streak to 5 consecutive.
The Cangrejos Fantasmas got a big at-bat from center fielder Dana Brown. For the game, Brown went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Chesapeake a 4-3 lead.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Brown. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
