Highlanders Collect 6-4 Win Over Polar Bears
The Billings Polar Bears got a superb performance from catcher Ryan Witt, but the Asheville Highlanders still won the game, 6-4. Witt was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner in relief was Tommy Woods. He is now 2-0. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. Jorge Marroquín closed it out for his 4th save.

Asheville used the timely hitting of Marcel Alberink to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Highlanders on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Alberink.

The 9th-place Polar Bears have lost 4 consecutive games.
