Thunder Beaten By Voodoo, 7-4
|
Toronto second baseman Fuzzy Benas had a good game, even if his team did not. The Thunder dropped a 7-4 decision to New Orleans at Thunder Field. Benas went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. New Orleans reliever Victor Howell picked up the win to move to 3-1. Dennis Jones suffered the loss. The Voodoo improved their record to 52-36 by beating Toronto.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 24-year old left fielder Janpey Kille. Kille had a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 4-3. For the game, Kille had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Said New Orleans manager Chase Sims: "Our approach was outstanding all night long."
