Extra-Inning Win by Loons Over Blues
|
The Minnesota Loons picked up a win at Blues Field, downing the Barton Springs Blues, 5-0, in 10 innings. On the mound for Minnesota was left-hander Billy Warren, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Loons, at 42-33, sit in second place in the Silver AA.
Warren, a native of Luray, Virginia, was dealing all game. He kept Barton Springs hitters off-balance, while giving the Loons 8.2 quality innings. Warren threw 95 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 6.
"Billy is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Minnesota manager Calvin Beck.
