Billings pitcher Júlio Nieto had a large part in his team subduing the Minnesota Loons, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. In 7 innings, Nieto surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Michael Green earned the save for Billings.

The Polar Bears got an important contribution from designated hitter Albert Castillo, who in the bottom of the sixth hit a splitter to center for a 2-run double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Polar Bears ahead, 4-1.

After the game, Billings manager César Guerra applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
