New Orleans pitcher Jesús Ramírez did his part in helping his team defeat the Las Vegas Flamingos, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Ramírez, now 5-8, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Bob Douglas closed the game out for New Orleans, earning his 22nd save.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the fifth inning, but Ramírez was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Las Vegas trailing 2-0, Ramírez retired Weiner Blau, who struck out.

With the win, New Orleans raised its record to 48-40.
