The Seattle Rocketeers downed the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 7-2. The hitting star was second baseman Xiao-gang Kong. Kong went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Rocketeers. The win puts Seattle at 49-39 this season.

Seattle used the timely hitting of Reginald Willard to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rocketeers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Willard. "You've got to get results."
