Turbeaus Win Thriller, 6-4
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus topped the Billings Polar Bears, 6-4, in USSL Double A action at Mobile Home Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Gulf Coast pitcher Lambert Fierant. The winner was Mike McCauley in relief. His record improves to 2-1. César Ramos took the loss. Now 49-29, the Turbeaus have won 15 games in a row.
Gulf Coast got a clutch hit from Steve Bullard. The third baseman launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"It's fun coming to the ballpark," said Fierant, "when you're on this kind of roll."
