Polar Bears Handled by Gulf Coast, 8-3
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus knocked off the Billings Polar Bears, 8-3, in USSL Double A action at Mobile Home Park. Gulf Coast pitcher and Sidney, Ohio, native Wyatt Bell had an outstanding performance. Brandon Martin closed the game out for Gulf Coast, earning his 2nd save. At 45-33, the Turbeaus are currently second in the Silver AA.
Making an impact for Gulf Coast was first baseman Scott Steiner. Math drilled a run-scoring double off Gerald Tate in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Steiner was 2-4 with 2 doubles.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Billings manager Justin Broadfoot.
