Brad Green, who is tied for 4th in the SAA in innings pitched with 117.1, imposed his will on the Miners from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 Gulf Coast triumph. Green got the win, improving to 6-5. He gave up 3 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. David Thornton collected save number 5.

Kelvin Reynolds had a direct impact on the outcome. Reynolds contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Gulf Coast up, 1-0.
