The performance of Spencer Jeffries proved critical in helping St. Petersburg beat Ithaca, 7-5. The Thunder catcher was 3-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. St. Petersburg reliever Hal Gaines was the winner. His record is now 4-1. Steve Feijoo took the loss. At 44-36, the Thunder claim 4th place in the Silver AA.

The Thunder got a big hit from shortstop Billy García. In the bottom of the sixth, García smacked a 2-run home run off Ithaca pitcher Steve Feijoo. It was his 10th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Thunder were ahead, 6-5.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Jeffries told the St. Petersburg Bulletin.
