Cuevas Powers Thunder to 12-6 Win
The St. Petersburg Thunder stopped the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 12-6, behind an impressive performance from Bernardo Cuevas. The 24-year old shortstop made life miserable for Ithaca pitching. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Julien Parmentier, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 4-1. St. Petersburg now has a record of 45-36 with the win.

In the bottom of the third inning, first baseman Jarrod Harris had a 3-run home run for St. Petersburg. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Thunder on top, 3-1.

"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said St. Petersburg manager Alejandro Mingo. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
