Pittsburgh got a valiant performance from pitcher Luis Rojas, but it wasn't enough to beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. Northern Virginia won the game, 4-3. Rojas threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Samuel Morris picked up the save, his 7th. The triumph puts Northern Virginia at 45-43 for the season.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Garry Park? The 26-year old third baseman Park stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Northern Virginia up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Park told the Northern Virginia Bulletin.
