Polar Bears Take Down Blues, 3-2
|
Billings right-hander Yakamochi Hirano helped his team edge Barton Springs by the score of 3-2 in 11 innings. Hirano kept the opposing lineup in check. Reliever Wayne Horne picked up the win. His record improves to 9-2. Aaron Arnold, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2059 draft, took the loss. The 'W' lifts Billings's record to 38-44.
Up to bat in the bottom of the 11th, 23-year old left fielder Javier Romero had a chance to be the hero. Barton Springs pitcher Aaron Arnold wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Romero drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Polar Bears had themselves a thrilling win.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Romero said.
