Eclipse Dealt 5-1 Loss by Gulf Coast
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus downed the Northville Eclipse, 5-1, at Mobile Home Park. Stellar pitching by Wyatt Bell had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the SAA in wins with 7, handcuffed his opponent all game. Bell, now 7-6, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The Silver AA-leading Turbeaus have a record of 49-34.
Scott Steiner had a big 2-run home run for the Turbeaus in the bottom of the first inning. With Gulf Coast leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Pereira and punished it. The result was his 17th home run of the season, which put the Turbeaus on top, 3-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Northville manager Daniel Katz.
