Salvador López never let Long Island get something going. The Vancouver right-hander commanded his cutter in pitching the Grey Wolves to a 2-1 win. The winner in relief was Waweru Kamili. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 3-3. The 6th-place Grey Wolves now have a win-loss record of 39-50.

The Lighthouse had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Grey Wolves going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old first baseman Miguel Zarate came to the plate. Zarate hit a run-scoring double on a full count sinker from Long Island hurler Cheol-han Cho. It was Zarate's 7th double of the year.

"Salvador's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Vancouver manager David Krause.
