Virginia Beach Blanks Ogres, Drake at His Best
It wasn't easy but the Virginia Beach Whales made it look that way.

Starter Connor Drake shut out the Olympia Ogres despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Virginia Beach Whales cruised to victory, 10-0. Drake allowed only 2 hits and rang up 5 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

This season Drake has worked 92 innings with 73 strikeouts en route to a 5-4 record and a 3.91 ERA.
