Pierogis Handle Loons, Nab 10-7 Win

The Squirrel Hill Pierogis topped the Minnesota Loons by a score of 10-7. Leading the way was right fielder Shan-tang Zhou. Zhou went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Pierogis. The Pierogis win now puts them at 36-50.
The Pierogis got a big hit from pinch hitter Ramón Ruíz. Facing Minnesota pitcher Edgardo Cuellar in the bottom of the fifth, Ruíz pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 5th home run of the season put the Pierogis ahead, 8-6.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Squirrel Hill skipper Ben Cooper.
