Runs were at a premium in the St. Petersburg-Chesapeake matchup.

The St. Petersburg Thunder converted a terrific effort from starter Hal Gaines into a win over the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas at Baby Thunder Dome. The Thunder won the game by a final score of 2-0. Kyle Warren earned the save, his 3rd in 3 tries.

The Thunder got a big at-bat from second baseman Bernardo Cuevas. For the game, Cuevas was 2-4 with 2 doubles. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 19th double of the season gave St. Petersburg a 1-0 lead.
