The Providence Pilgrims had to overcome a good performance from Billings pitcher James Potts to claim a 3-1 win at Field of Plenty. Potts went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Jason Herbert finished to wrap up his 14th save. The 5th-place Polar Bears now sit at 42-45.

Mike Fowler had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Providence. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Providence in front, 3-1.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Fowler told the Providence Times.
