Toledo Beaten, 5-3, by Gulf Coast
|
No one was more impactful than Steve Bullard in the 5-3 Gulf Coast win over Toledo. Bullard, who is tied for 2nd in the SAA in runs scored with 55, went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Reliever Mike McCauley picked up the win. His record improves to 4-1. Mark Peterson, who is rated as the 65th best prospect by BNN, took the loss. Earning his 24th save for Gulf Coast was Kenny Flint.
Gulf Coast used the timely hitting of Larry Rothrock to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Turbeaus on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I felt good about my swing," said Bullard.
Gulf Coast is first in the Silver AA with a record of 55-32.
