Barton Springs third baseman Walton L'Ouverture made his presence felt in the 4-2 Blues triumph over the St. Petersburg Thunder. L'Ouverture went 2-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Jonathan Rasmussen. He's now 4-10. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits for the Blues. Barton Springs is 8th in the Silver AA with a record of 40-48.
Kevin Smith drove in one run for Barton Springs. The 28-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Carlos Balderas. It was his 21st RBI of the season.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Smith.
