Highlanders Come Up Short at Squirrel Hill, 7-6
|
The Asheville Highlanders got a sterling performance from center fielder Claude Prigent, but the Squirrel Hill Pierogis still prevailed, 7-6. Prigent was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Squirrel Hill sits in 4th place in the Silver AA at 44-44.
Bob Cole, who is tied for 8th in the SAA in extra base hits with 32, chipped in a 2-run home run for Squirrel Hill in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
