Cangrejos Fantasmas Prevail, 8-6, Over Yakima

Chesapeake starter Maurice Richards turned in a competent performance at Ghost Crab Park as the Cangrejos Fantasmas beat the Yakima Hops, 8-6. In 8 innings, Richards surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 5. He allowed 3 runs. Earning his 7th save of the year was Jorge Cabral.
Chesapeake right fielder Hughie Dook contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a sinker into left field for a 3-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Cangrejos Fantasmas ahead, 3-0.
"It's a mindset," said Richards. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
Chesapeake is now 50-39, 2 games up in the Silver AA.
