Providence turned a good effort from starter Lee Kennedy into a win over the St. Petersburg Thunder at Field of Plenty. The Pilgrims won the game, 1-0. The win puts Providence at 51-40 this season.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Providence first baseman Jessie Wynn, facing Julien Parmentier, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Pilgrims the 1-0 win.

Wynn called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
