Javelina Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the Barton Springs Blues and Arizona Javelina.
The Arizona Javelina had to overcome a fine effort from Barton Springs pitcher Will Turner to win, 3-2, at Javelina Ballpark. Turner went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Pedro Rodríguez, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-5. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 5.
Jack Roberts had a big 3-run home run for the Javelina in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Arizona trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from Will Turner, who is tied for 8th in the SAA in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Javelina on top, 3-2.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Arizona manager Ricky O'Toole.
With this game in the books, Arizona is 34-57, Barton Springs 41-50.
