Pérez Excels, But Loons Win
The inspired effort of Billings catcher Raúl Pérez was not enough to prevent a loss, 13-5, to the Minnesota Loons. Pérez was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. With the win, Minnesota upped its record to 51-40.

Minnesota got a big at-bat from Utica, New York native Herb Jones, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Loons ahead, 10-1.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Jones.
