Saboteurs Win at Home, 7-5
|
The Toledo Saboteurs defeated the Vancouver Vipers, 7-5. Doing his part was catcher Ray Carr, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Reliever Júlio Medina picked up the win. His record improves to 2-8. Gil Burke, who is tied for 7th in the SAA in quality starts with 11, took the loss. Jesse Yates collected his 13th save.
Bill Clapsaddle's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 5-5. The Toledo designated hitter hit a 2-run single off Dave McKinney to put the Saboteurs up.
"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Vancouver manager Manuel Sánchez.
Toledo, with the win, sits at 31-61.
