Vipers Earn 8-2 Win Against Saboteurs
The Vancouver Vipers needed 10 innings to defeat the Toledo Saboteurs, 8-2, at Toledo Backyard Park. Vancouver designated hitter Jerry Downey had a superb performance. He was 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. The 5th-place Vipers lifted their record to 50-43.

Vancouver needed the clutch hitting of Dave Kennedy to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Vipers on top, 6-2. For the game, Kennedy had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Toledo manager Rodney Dudley.
