Polar Bears Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
The Polar Bears earned a hard-fought, 5-1 win in 10 innings at Asheville Park. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Asheville pitcher Ray Campbell. Campbell went 7 innings and allowed no runs. The win was credited to Troy Hamilton in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Adam Vinck took the loss. The 9th-place Polar Bears now have a record of 42-54.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 23-year old shortstop Kenzo Hatakeyama. Hatakeyama had a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Polar Bears ahead, 1-0. For the game, Hatakeyama had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I thought we played a nice game," Hatakeyama told the Billings Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
