Pierogis Post 4-2 Win
|
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis topped the Toledo Saboteurs, 4-2, in USSL Double A action at Toledo Backyard Park. The standout performance belonged to Squirrel Hill pitcher and Seoul, South Korea, native Myung-woo Kang. The winning pitcher was Kang, now 2-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. The Pierogis now have a record of 50-46 with the win over Toledo.
Dave Tucker dealt the Saboteurs a blow in the top of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Squirrel Hill leading 1-0, Tucker hit a 1-2 sinker for a run-scoring single.
Tucker called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
