Lake Murray beat Gulf Coast on the strength of starting pitcher Paul Ramsey's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Lake Murray reliever Max Burse picked up the win, raising his record to 3-7. Kenny Flint was tagged with the loss. Lake Murray is now 48-49, Gulf Coast 61-36.
Gilberto Martínez came through with a big-time hit for Lake Murray. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Ramsey told the Lake Murray Gazette.
