Punchless Rainbow Mermaids Fall, 11-0, to New Orleans
Al Hussey pitched a gem to lead New Orleans to victory over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 11-0. Hussey, now 4-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing no runs. The Voodoo saw their win-loss record go to 50-40. At the same time, the Rainbow Mermaids fell to 50-40.

Les Moore, who is tied for 8th in the PL in triples with 4, contributed to the New Orleans win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in.
