Liberty Academy Jolt Eclipse, 5-3, with Late Rally
|
The Philadelphia Liberty Academy defeated the Northville Eclipse, 5-3, in USSL Double A action at Liberty Academy Field. Philadelphia pitcher Don Swift had a standout performance. Ricardo Sandoval picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-4. Don Jackson, who leads the SAA in saves with 27, was tagged with the loss. Philadelphia raised its record to 65-35 with the win.
Philadelphia got a knockout punch from Pablo Felix. The pinch hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"I liked his command," said Philadelphia manager Ángelo Corona. "Don was throwing strikes."
