|
Billings Polar Bears starter Mike Pace pitched a strong game against the Toledo Saboteurs at The Igloo, leading the Polar Bears to victory, 4-3. Andrés Chávez wrapped it up, recording his 5th save. With the win, the Polar Bears are 34-66.
Billings first baseman Clint Ellison contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 81st hit of the season and put the Polar Bears ahead, 4-1.
"I'm happy we won," said Pace. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
