Liberty Academy Win Streak Reaches 6
|
The Philadelphia Liberty Academy defeated the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 6-4, at Field of the Rawhides. Philadelphia was led by 23-year old third baseman António García, who was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Fred Briggs closed out the game, earning his 17th save. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Liberty Academy.
With Philadelphia leading 2-0 in the top of the second, García hit a changeup from Brian Taylor for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Liberty Academy ahead, 4-0.
"Hitting, winning. It's just contagious," said García.
