In a tight contest between the New Orleans Voodoo and the Toledo Stingers, Soong-yong Yi was the determining factor. The New Orleans left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. In 5.2 innings, Yi surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Phil McKinley earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Voodoo had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when shortstop Fred Burton hit a run-scoring triple. The triple came off Kiyonaga Kondo and made the score 2-0, Voodoo. Burton went 1-3 with a triple.

After the game, New Orleans manager Chase Sims applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

With the win, New Orleans goes to 5-4.
