In a low-scoring affair between the Casper Ghosts and the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, pitcher Joe Sheffield was the difference between victory and defeat. The Casper right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Ghosts win. Phil Drew claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 1-4. The 8th-place Ghosts have won 5 in a row.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 2-2, 21-year old second baseman Mike Blake won it for Casper. With a runner on 2nd, Blake hit a full count fastball from Jonah Cervantes for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 3-2 win.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Gulf Coast manager Melvin McCullough. "But we decided not to take it."
