Fighting Imps Win, 9-4, at Gwinnett
|
Experimental Stadium was the site of the home opener for the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs. The contest featured a prime matchup between Luke Little of the visiting Ithaca Fighting Imps and Patches Magickbeans of the Guinea Pigs. The final score was 9-4, the Fighting Imps getting the win. Sam McElroy turned in the best performance.
Steven Gagg had a big 2-run home run for the Fighting Imps in the top of the second inning. With Ithaca leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Patches Magickbeans, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2060 draft, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Fighting Imps on top, 3-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Gagg told the Ithaca Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
