Pierogis Knock Off Guinea Pigs at Field of the Rawhides

Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Squirrel Hill Pierogis were eager to watch Doug Kellar square off against George Hill of the visiting Gwinnett Guinea Pigs. In the end, the Pierogis won the game, 7-5, with Bob Cole leading the way. Richard Roche nailed down the save.
Glenn Beck, the Squirrel Hill designated hitter, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 2-0, Pierogis. For the game, Beck went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Squirrel Hill manager Luis Pamparacuatro.
